Frequently Asked Questions
Real questions from Arizona homeowners about cabinet refinishing, paint durability, and our process.
What is your primary specialty at Brush Brothers?
Our two highest-priority specialties are Cabinet Refinishing and Interior Painting, followed by durable UV-shield Exterior Painting and Full Home Transformations.
Why do you refinish cabinets instead of replacing them?
Replacing solid wood or sound cabinetry typically costs $25,000 to $60,000 and disrupts your kitchen for weeks. Our factory-smooth spray refinishing process gives you a brand-new custom designer look at a fraction of that investment, usually completed in 4 to 6 business days.
Do you spray or brush cabinet boxes in our home?
Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are removed and sprayed with commercial HVLP equipment. For the cabinet face frames and boxes in your home, we mask the entire kitchen in sealed plastic containment with exhaust ventilation, spraying or hand-finishing depending on the layout to deliver a silky factory finish with zero overspray.
What paint brands and products do you use?
We exclusively use premium commercial-grade coatings from Sherwin-Williams (such as Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel, SuperPaint, and Loxon XP) and Dunn-Edwards (such as Aristoshield and Evershield). We supply all materials on every job.
How long does exterior paint last in the Arizona desert heat?
Standard builder paints degrade in 2 to 4 years. With our elastomeric crack bridging and two coats of 100% acrylic UV-shield paint, our exterior paint jobs typically last 8 to 10 years.
Do you fix stucco cracks before painting exterior walls?
Yes. Every exterior project includes pressure washing to remove dust, followed by V-grooving and sealing all stucco cracks with flexible elastomeric compounds so the repairs do not re-open.
Do you do touch-up only jobs or fix another contractor's work?
No. To maintain our high craftsmanship standards, we do not perform touch-up only jobs or fix-ups of another contractor's unfinished work.
Do you offer financing?
We do not offer financing at this time. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, cash, and checks.
How far do you travel for painting projects?
We travel up to 65 miles from our home base in Mesa, Arizona, serving all of Maricopa County and communities in Yavapai County including Prescott, Prescott Valley, Sedona, Cottonwood, and Chino Valley.
Who oversees the work on my home?
Our crew leads manage the project, coordinate timelines, and conduct a final walkthrough inspection alongside you before any project is marked complete.
Are you licensed and insured in Arizona?
Yes, we are fully licensed and insured in Arizona (AZ ROC License #343710).
How do you handle HOA color approvals?
We maintain digital and physical color books for master-planned communities across Maricopa and Yavapai Counties. We provide color samples and formal code sheets to ensure prompt HOA architectural approval.
Do you move furniture and protect flooring during interior painting?
Yes. We move light furnishings to the center of the room, lay heavy canvas drop cloths and plastic over all surfaces, tape baseboards and trim, and restore your room completely at the end.
Are your interior paints low or zero-VOC?
Yes. We use zero-VOC and low-VOC paints for all interior walls and ceilings, meaning you and your family can comfortably occupy the home without harsh fumes.
How do I get an estimate?
